A Residential Shelter home is a home catering to any child in the age group of 6-17 years in need of care and protection and hailing from critical backgrounds (e.g. orphans, broken families, single parent families, nowhere children etc.).

The focus of this program is to provide opportunities for holistic development, and equip the children with basic education and some vocational skill during their stay at the shelter home. The shelter home serves the dual purpose of catering to children for a long term stay and also children staying for a transit period to be repatriated back immediately. In Girija Balgruha we have 30 kids.
